Freedom is never free. Our independence was earned long ago and is continually being defended. Sure, our government can be corrupt, try to run us into the ground maybe, but I think they know better than to screw with our freedom, our independence. Whether you look out your window and see skyscrapers or you get stuck behind a John Deere going 20mph in a 55mph. We’ve got people trading stocks on Wall Street, estimating how the next rise or fall will change the economy. We’ve got farmers busting their butts for us, worrying about rain flooding their fields and destroying their crops. We’ve got people - mothers, fathers, and children - starving, wondering where their next meal will come from, working paycheck to paycheck. But above all, we have people serving this country, some even paying the ultimate price to make sure this stays a country that belongs to those farmers, stock brokers, hard working people.
Thank you, and God bless, to those keeping the freedom and independence for this beautiful place. All gave some, some gave all. You’re more appreciated than you may ever know.

30 Day Challenge - Day 3

Day 3: Your day in great detail (…A day late)

(Yesterday)

Woke up late. I hate getting a late start; I feel like I’m playing catch up for the rest of the day. The 4:10 start somehow made me leave earlier for work than usual, though. Usually on my way to work, the sun decides to rise. It’s kind of my time to actually wake up enough to function. This crazy summer rain have made it too cloudy for the sunrise to be seen, as was the case today. To make my morning continue in the bad streak, a train blocked my way to work. Not just any train, quite possibly the longest train I’ve ever sat for. My morning at work was okay, trying to stay busy with not a ton of work that needs done. Makes for a long day sometimes, especially when tired! Won’t get into work details, don’t think the government would appreciate that much. I did get to have lunch with a coworker, Diana, which is always a nice break from my day. Details for that - I had chicken. Left from work yesterday, thinking it’d be faster to take the shorter way home, as I have not had many issues with that way. I got off the bridge just fine, very little traffic… until I hit the line heading towards the I-74E detour. Then I realized, stupid idea. Definitely would’ve taken less time to go the longer, yet lacking construction and traffic, way. After getting home, I found my sisters had made cookies (YES!). Didn’t do much the rest of the night. If the headaches keep up, I don’t know when I’ll actually want to finish homework. Went to bed around 830, making for a short night and extra sleep. Maybe not so much ‘great detail’ after all. :)

30 Day Challenge - Day 2

Day 2 - 10 Likes & Dislikes

Likes:

1. The smell of babies! (When they’re clean, of course ;))

2. Sugar. Almost anything sweet.

3. Bacon. (Also liking how 2 of 10 are already about food.)

4. Netflix.

5. Sleeping.

6. Shooting.

7. Knowing that my parents’ decision to get an Invisible Fence for their dogs, that includes a house one, will cause me so many less injuries due to tripping over dog gates.

8. My job!

9. Yoga pants.

10. Mi familia.

Dislikes:

1. June bugs and wasps.

2. The naked look of baby birds.

3. Dogs fighting (and shedding).

4. Losing.

5. Mistrust.

6. Failure.

7. When I have to pay for shipping. Who does that?

8. Dead batteries.

9. Indecisive people (Yes, I’m indecisive, but that’s why I need decisive people around me!)

10. People who watch what they eat waaay too much. Makes me want to throw a piece of fried chicken at them.

30 Day Challenge - Day 1

Day 1 - Post some basic things about yourself

Hmm…

Life sources : coffee, diet Mountain Dew

I love my sisters and brother :)

I have no idea what I want to do “when I grow up” … or just can’t decide!

Netflix may or may not be a life saver

The main reason I love my job is because I love the people I work with!

Following Miss Autumn and doing this!

I miss you when something really good happens, because you are the one I want to share it with. I miss you when something is troubling me, because you are the one who understands me so well. I miss you when I laugh and cry because I know that you are the one that makes my laughter grow and my tears disappear. I miss you all the time, but I miss you most when I lay awake at night and think of all the wonderful times we spent with each other; for those were some of the best times of my life.

You may not be her first, her last, or her only.
She loved before she may love again.
But if she loves you now, what else matters?
She’s not perfect, you aren’t either,
and the two of you may never be perfect together
but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice,
and admit to being human and making mistakes,
hold onto her and give her the most you can.
She may not be thinking about you
every second of the day, but she will give you a part of
her that she knows you can break her heart.
So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze
and don’t expect more than she can give.
Smile when she maked you happy,
let her know when she makes you mad,
and miss her when she’s not there.
Bob Marley

Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn’t it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life…You give them a piece of you. They didn’t ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn’t your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like ‘maybe we should be just friends’ turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It’s a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.
Neil Gaiman

Life is not meant to be easy, my child; but take courage – it can be delightful.
George Bernard Shaw
